Dr. James Benjamin Roldan, M.D.
Background
Born and raised in South Florida to a Brazilian mother and Chilean father, Dr. James brings a multilingual, multicultural perspective to his work. His experiences include serving in Germany as a U.S. State Department student ambassador and conducting nutraceutical research in Rehovot, Israel. Today, he combines medicine, entrepreneurship, and creative media to make health information more personal and accessible.
Education & Clinical Work
Dr. James earned his B.B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Miami Herbert Business School and his M.D. from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine residency through Florida State University at Lee Health and is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He has completed advanced aesthetics training in the United States and Brazil and is the founder of Artist MD, a physician-led aesthetics, wellness, and performance practice serving South Florida.
Recognition & Advocacy
Selected as one of 16 AFMRD/AAFP Family Medicine Advocacy Scholars nationwide, Dr. Roldan represented family medicine in Washington, D.C., including meetings on Capitol Hill. He received the 2026 AFMRD Outstanding Resident for Advocacy Award, following recognition as Lee Memorial Hospital’s Outstanding Resident for OB/GYN and a 2024 Lee Health Patient Care Award recipient.

Since 2019, Dr. Roldan has served as a Brazilian-American health media contributor for Record TV Américas, making medical information accessible across cultures and languages.
Vision
Dr. James believes medicine is both science and communication. Through Artist MD, his multilingual Artist MD YouTube channel, and his music and filmmaking, he brings clinical precision, cultural awareness, and creativity together to help people better understand their health and become the best version of themselves.
